The HD remaster of GoldenEye 007 will be released within the next two weeks. That’s at least according to a new rumour.
Rumours of the N64 classic, GoldenEye 007 receiving a remaster have been around for years. In recent weeks, those rumours have been picking up a lot of steam. Furthermore, an achievement leak in January added even more fuel to the speculative fire.
However, as reported by VGC, Jeff Grubb of VentureBeat claimed on the Giant Bomb show “GrubbSnax” that the GoldenEye 007 remaster will be announced within the “next couple of weeks.”
“I think that Microsoft is going to be the one to announce that first,” said Grubb. “I think this game is probably coming pretty soon, I’m thinking next couple of weeks.”
Please let the rumours be true!
Despite rumours of the remaster being around for years, complications of its legal rights between MGM, Nintendo and Microsoft have prevented the beloved classic from getting its revival.
MGM owns the movie rights, Nintendo published the game on N64 in 1997 and Microsoft owns its developer, Rare.
This year will also celebrate the 60th anniversary of the first James Bond 007 film. So, if GoldenEye does receive its remaster, it will be a fantastic way to celebrate the franchise for fans.
