Gravity Rush is getting a movie adaptation, claims report

Gravity Rush is apparently the next franchise to get a video game-to-movie adaptation, according to a report from Deadline.

It seems that Deadline is getting all the PlayStation Production’s scoops lately. Only this week, Deadline also reported that a Days Gone movie is on the way. However, it seems that Gravity Rush will also be getting the silver screen treatment.

Loads of Sony adaptations are on the way

Along with the success of the Uncharted movie which is spawning a sequel, Gravity Rush and Days Gone join the likes of Horizon and God of War on the small screen. As well as movies for Gran Turismo and Ghost of Tsushima.

Gravity Rush was first released for the PS Vita in 2012, before being remastered for the PS4 in 2016. A sequel would then arrive in 2017 for PS4. Sadly, however, despite being much-loved by PlayStation fans, there appears to be no sign of a trilogy completion for PS5.

Gravity Rush has its director and writer

Thankfully, if reports are true, at least a Gravity movie looks to be on the way. I suppose at a bare minimum, this adaptation should be a visual spectacle.

The report from Deadline claims that so far, Anna Mastro (Marvel’s Runaways) will be directing and Emily Jerome (Panopticon) has been brought in to write the script.

At this time, we have no details as to who will star in the Gravity Rush movie. Hopefully, we’ll find out in the coming weeks.

However, it has to be said that this report is unconfirmed by Sony, so we should take the information with a pinch of salt. That being said, Deadline reports have proven to be correct many times in the past.
