GTA 5 and GTA Online are getting big visual upgrades with ray-traced reflections, Rockstar Games has confirmed.
GTA will soon look extra glorious!
The ray-traced reflections will not be available on PS4 or Xbox One for obvious reasons. What’s more, at least according to the press release from Rockstar Games, this visual enhancement will also not be available on Xbox Series S.
However, the ray-traced reflections on PS5 and Xbox Series X will be rendered in real-time “on many surfaces” thanks to the Fidelity Mode graphics settings. Elsewhere, custom weaponised vehicles can now be used in online Races.
The PS5 and Xbox Series X versions of Grand Theft Auto 5 do already have 4K resolution, a targeted 60FPS, improved textures as well as ray-tracing. However, this new update will add an extra emphasis on ray-traced reflections.
Shark Cards denominations will also see a boost of 20% to 25% when purchasing directly through GTA Online. GTA+ members will also benefit from an additional 15% bonus on Shark Cards.
The GTA ray-traced update arrives this month
No release date has been announced by Rockstar Games as to exactly when the ray-traced enhancements will arrive. Thankfully, we do know that it will arrive this month via the December Update. You can check out all the added details on RockstarGames.com.
Oh, and one last thing. In the December update, all GTA Online players will be gifted with the “retro-styled Declasse Tahoma Coupe” vehicle for a limited time. So be sure to claim that when it becomes available.
