Here Are The First Details For The Devil May Cry Anime

In an interview with IGN, producer Adi Shankar gave the first details for his upcoming Devil May Cry anime series.

The season 1 scripts are done,” according to Shankar. He also says that “They are rad.” and that he “could not be more excited.” Season one will apparently have eight episodes, but that the story wouldn’t wrap up in the first season. He is apparently planning a “multi-arc” story, over the course of multiple seasons.

Shankar also confirmed a couple of other details, saying “I can confirm that Vergil is in it, as well as Lady, and of course Dante as well.” He also confirmed that “Chris Pratt won’t be voicing any of the characters,” which won’t exactly be a problem for us. Shankar wasn’t able to provide any specific story details just yet though.

Working with Capcom has been great according to Shankar as well. “The entire team both from the management side and the creative side have been so incredibly supportive and gracious.” Shankar has been working with Hiroyuki Kobayashi, who worked on the original DMC and Resident Evil games. ““Kobayashi-san has been wonderful. It’s seriously a joy to work with Capcom. Their character library is unlike anything assembled.

Alex Larson, who wrote for the Netflix anime Yusuke, is also attached as a writer on the Devil May Cry anime.

The series will reportedly begin production in 2022, but a specific release date hasn’t yet been provided.
