Hidetaka Miyazaki Weighs In On Possibility Of Bloodborne 2

Bloodborne is one of the darkest, toughest and most memorable games of the last ten years. It’s pretty much as close to perfect as a game can get, and FromSoftware fans are all hoping that a sequel is on the cards for the future.

In an interview with Gamespot Brazil, creator Hidetaka Miyazaki weighed in on the possibility of a sequel, admitting that the game is his favourite of those he’s worked on.

“Unfortunately, I’m not the one to decide,” said Miyazaki when asked about a Bloodborne 2. He went on to add: “It is as if you have three or four children and someone asks ‘which one is the prettiest?’. I will answer that they are all (laughs).

“But if I were to say which one stayed in my heart, it’s Bloodborne. It is what most struck me. I believe I did it my way, the way I wanted it.”

ICYMI, there’s currently a rumour that the PlayStation 5 will be launching with a remastered version of Demon’s Souls, the game that started off the Soulsborne franchise and rocketed FromSoftware to its iconic status.

The president of Bluepoint Games, the company which most famously remastered Shadow of the Colossus, recently surprised gamers by saying: “We’re working on a big one right now. I’ll let you figure out the rest.”

With Demon’s Souls being one of the best games of its generation, players are eagerly awaiting some sort of confirmation that this is what president Marco Thrush is referring to.

It’s not the first time that some form of Soulsborne game has been mentioned in the same sentence as a remaster, which only lends fuel to this rumour-fire.

Back in September, industry insider and video games personality Colin Moriarty said during a Sacred Symbols podcast: “There is a remaster that is coming out to PS4 that I thought they were going to announce today but didn’t. Let’s just say the soul still burns.”

If we don’t get Demon’s Souls remastered then I’ll happily settle for a Bloodborne 2!
