Capcom smashed it out of the park with Resident Evil 2 Remake, a game which has earned itself a nomination as Game of the Year at The Game Awards 2019. It’s now been confirmed that a Resident Evil 3 Remake is also on the cards, and the internet couldn’t be happier about the news.
Announced during Sony’s State of Play today (10/12), Resident Evil 3 Remake is officially dropping in 2020. In case you missed it, check out the announcement below! Who woulda thought Project Resistance is a part of RE3?!
The game will drop on PS4, April 3 2020.
Resident Evil 3: Nemesis originally launched back in 1999 and quickly became a series-favourite thanks to the change in gameplay and new mechanics. Following everyone’s beloved Jill Valentine, the game is an absolute staple of the survival horror genre that completely deserves this remake.
The game’s original 1999 description reads as follows: “Jill Valentine resigns from S.T.A.R.S. and vows to leave Raccoon City. She suddenly finds herself trapped by hordes of flesh eating zombies, hideous mutants, and a relentless new Nemesis.”

Just last week, artwork for the game was spotted on the PlayStation Network which only ruined the surprise a teeny weeny bit.
As shared to Gamstat before making the rounds on Twitter, the leaked artwork showed us our first look at Nemesis, along with the one and only Jill Valentine.

Now we know the game’s officially in the works, let’s hope it’s just as jaw-dropping as the RE 2 Remake was.
Met with high praise from gamers and critics alike, it’s not too surprising to see RE2 Remake up against some of the biggest games of the year at TGA 2019. The Capcom title will be up for Game of The Year against Control (Remedy/505 Games), Death Stranding (Kojima Productions), Super Smash Bros. Ultimate (Nintendo) and Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice (FromSoftware).
The Game Awards 2019 kicks off December 13.
