Kang actor Jonathan Majors talks about being the next MCU supervillain

Jonathan Majors has talked about his role as the next MCU supervillain, being the actor behind Kang the Conqueror/He Who Remains.

Jonathan Majors was first introduced to the MCU in the finale of Loki Season 1. It was an interesting end to the show, and created a lot more questions than it answered. Still, fans of the Marvel comics may have an idea of what to expect from his character going forwards.

At San Diego Comic-Con last weekend, we got confirmation that the next Avengers film will be called “The Kang Dynasty”. There have been countless theories about the character, with many expecting him to be a significant villain. Furthermore, it was revealed that Kang will be the main villain of Phase 5 and 6, which will take place across 2023-2025.

The next MCU Supervillain

But how does the actor himself feel about becoming the next MCU supervillain? There are some big shoes to fill in the wake of Thanos, so Kang has a lot to live up to.

Speaking at Comic Con, Majors said “It feels cool. You know, the whole thing is of cultural significance. And so, to be of titular significance, whatever that means, it’s humbling actually. You know, you just want to get to work, you just want to see the script and start, you know? Start and fail and mess up and you know, memorize the lines and do all the stuff I wanted to do since I was a little boy in Texas.”

Phase 6 will conclude with two Avengers films, and Kang will supposedly be the driving force behind them – Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, followed by Avengers: The Secret Wars.

But before that, the Kang actor is going to appear in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. This’ll probably give us a better idea of what to expect from the character in the MCU.
