Disney Plus has been the saving grace for many a person during the days of lockdown, and rumour says the best show imaginable is headed to the platform. As reported by We Got This Covered, the House of Mouse is apparently working on a Kingdom Hearts television series, which will be exclusive to the streaming platform.

Not too much is known about the project right now (if it even exists), but it’s believed that the show will focus on the games’ main characters, namely Sora, Goofy and Donald Duck. According to the publication, Final Fantasy characters won’t be making an appearance. If the rumours are true, don’t expect to be seeing the show anytime soon, as the global pandemic has caused delays to every sector of the entertainment industry.
As always with leaks and rumours, take this with a pinch of salt until we hear some confirmation!

In related news, Square Enix earlier this year announced that a new Kingdom Hearts experience was headed to mobile.
A Twitter account by the name of “Project Xehanort” pop up, revealing the working title for a “new KINGDOM HEARTS experience planned for Spring 2020!’
The mobile game has since been revealed to be Kingdom Hearts Dark Road, which will focus on the exploration of Xehanort’s past. The title has been confirmed to feature “high speed battles” in the form of card action.
It’s been a while since we last heard anything about Kingdom Hearts Dark Road, but it’s likely to have faced delays due to the global coronavirus pandemic.
In a press release from April of this year, the title was briefly mentioned to be “coming later this year,” suggesting it’s being pushed from its original planned release window of Spring 2020.
