Naughty Dog Teases Another Improvement For The Last Of Us Remake

Naughty Dog has shared a clip highlighting another substantial improvement made to the upcoming The Last of Us remake.

The improvement in question is related to Joel’s smuggling partner in time, Tess. In The Last of Us, Annie Wersching plays Tess, and despite only featuring in a relatively small role in the campaign, she made quite a significant impact on the story.

Tess and Joel are badass!

Now, I had no issue with Tess’s appearance in The Last of Us, she looked fantastic and just like every other character in the game, she was wonderfully portrayed by her voice actor. However, looking at the newly updated Tess in the remake, she certainly looks better and more accurate than ever.

The Naughty Dog clip showed the 2013 Tess vs Tess in 2022. Comparing the two, 2013 Tess does perhaps look a bit younger than she is supposed to be. Whereas the new Tess looks to represent her actual age in the game. While we don’t know her exact age, Tess is said to be around 40 years of age.

Confirming all the endless rumours, The Last of Us remake was officially announced at a recent State of Play event.

We got to see the PS4 version compared to this new PS5 remake, and while the differences might not stand out as some may have hoped, upon close inspection, the improvements are there. To be fair, both the PS3 and PS4 versions of The Last of Us still not only look great, but they play great too.
