Marvel producer Grant Curtis wants Sam Raimi to continue his story in the Spider-Man movies starring Tobey Maguire. But will it happen?
Grant Curtis, who is the producer of the new Disney+ series, Moon Knight, also worked alongside Sam Raimi during his Spider-Man trilogy. However, the producer is now calling for a fourth movie to be made.
Raimi is very busy right now
Sam Raimi is currently working on Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, so he has his hands full for the time being. That being said, we do know that his Spider-Man 4 movie nearly happened once before. So, it’s not outside the realm of possibility that it might gain traction.
“The Spider-Man movies we made were an incredible opportunity career-wise. As a fan, I love the narratives that were generated from those three movies,” Curtis told Gizmodo. “There were other stories within those movies that did not get told. I hope someday, as any Spider-Man fan would tell you, that all those stories come out and that narrative continues.”
Before it began its full production, Sam Raimi’s 4th Spider-Man movie was said to feature a much darker tone than the three previous movies. In fact, Spider-Man 4 was so close to happening, that an accompanying video game actually started development.
Fans want more Spider-Man!
Furthermore, back in January this year, fans started to campaign in an attempt to get Sony and Marvel to make Spider-Man 4 starring Tobey Maguire. The campaign even resulted in #MakeRaimiSpiderMan4 trending on Twitter.
Tobey Maguire is not the only Spider-Man movie that fans are campaigning for, because there is also a demand for Andrew Garfield to complete his Amazing Spider-Man trilogy. Personally, I would love to see both Tobey Maguire, as well as Andrew Garfield, return in their own new Spider-Man movies.
