A Metal Gear Solid voice actor has teased a potential major announcement related to the iconic Konami series in the coming weeks.
It’s been a long time since we’ve had a proper entry in the Metal Gear Solid series. The last was MGS5: The Phantom Pain in 2015. Well, we did get Metal Gear Survive in 2018. However, the less said about that game, the better.
Will Konami announce a new Metal Gear Solid game?
Voice actor Quinton Flynn was plugging his cameo account to his followers on Twitter. In case you didn’t know, Flynn is the voice of Axel from Kingdom Hearts, Cleric from Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII, and Raiden from Metal Gear.
In replying to his video, a fan asked about a sequel to Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance. Flynn responded by saying: “Stay tuned for things to be announced in the coming weeks,” followed by a wink emoji.
Has the Metal Gear Solid voice actor let slip?
Rumours of the Metal Gear Solid series making a triumphant return have been around a lot as of late. So much so, that at times, we can’t help but roll our eyes.
That being said, MGS veteran producer, Noriaki Okamura recently teased that 2023 will be the year of announcements. While Okamura didn’t mention Metal Gear specifically, it’s still easy to put two and two together. What’s more, the words of Okamura perhaps add foundation to the tweet made by Quinton Flynn.
Obviously, we should take all rumours with a pinch of salt. However, we can’t help but think that perhaps the Metal Gear Solid voice actor has accidentally let the cat out of the bag.
Furthermore, fans can perhaps take solace in the fact that Konami has recently revived Silent Hill. Not only with a remake of SH2 but also a movie as well as a plethora of other games from the series. Many fans will also hope to see the likes of Castlevania being revived from the dead.
