It seems that the Microsoft Store may have just leaked the new release date for Far Cry 6.
Last month the highly anticipated Far Cry 6 from Ubisoft was quietly delayed, along with the upcoming along with Rainbow Six: Quarantine.

Initially Far Cry 6 was supposed to release February 2021, but following the recent delay we got a very vague release window of “after April [2021].”
However if a recent Microsoft Store listing is to be believed (and why wouldn’t it?) Far Cry 6 will now release on May 26th, 2021.

Usually I would always say to take all leaks with a pinch of salt and while we must have some degree of scepticism, I believe a source such as the Microsoft Store is about as reliable as we’d get. This might still be a placeholder date though, so bear that in mind.
Far Cry 6 will be set in a fictional South American island of Yara. Though it seems like a tropical paradise to the outsider, it’s actually an island ruled under a cruel dictatorship. The people of Yara are fighting back against the oppression which has sparked a revolution for freedom.
Far Cry 6 will also star Giancarlo Esposito as the villainous tyrant. The esteemed actor, who you may recognise as Gus Fring from Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul, and more recently Moff Gideon from The Mandalorian, is making his video game debut in the Ubisoft title.
Rumours have also been making the internet rounds that the young boy seen in the Far Cry 6 trailer is Vaas Montenegro, the villain of Far Cry 3. Vaas is played by Michael Mando who also co-stars alongside Giancarlo Esposito in Better Call Saul.

If I was to take an educated guess if this release date is genuine, I’d expect Ubisoft to make an official release date announcement in the very near future.
Far Cry 6 will release for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Google Stadia and Amazon Luna next year.
