Infinity Ward’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is one of the best games of 2019, but like all games it’s been subjected to a number of leaks, and it’s seemingly happened yet again. The game’s battle royale map has apparently made its way online, despite still being an unconfirmed mode.
Funnily enough, this leak doesn’t come from a dataminer or from an industry insider – it’s coming right from the game itself, where a bug has allowed players to see the full battle royale map while playing.
The bug, which is apparently common-ish to come across, has revealed the map to players on both PC and console, and thankfully it’s now been captured on video.
As you can see in the clip below, the map is pretty darn huge, with lots of details and points of interest that are sure to make for a decent Hunger Games-style free-for-all.
In contrast to what we’re typically used to from the BR genre, there’s actually a pretty sizeable chunk of urban areas which is nice to see.
Of course the map is a hot topic on Reddit right now, with lots of people weighing in on the bug. Rumour says that the BR mode isn’t being developed by Infinity Ward, but instead by Raven Software, leaving IW free to work on CoD’s multiplayer modes.
With Infinity Ward and Activision still keeping schtum on the matter, we’ll have to wait for official confirmation of the battle royale mode, but yeah, this seems legit.
For now, check out the video of the alleged map below and drool over all the things that may yet come to pass.
With so much more content to come for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, this is definitely the gift that keeps on giving this holiday season. Now can we get an ETA on the 1v1 and 3v3 Gunfight modes please, Infinity Ward?
