Modern Warfare Players Want Devs To Take The Fortnite Approach

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare definitely has more than a few issues that its millions of players want to see resolved, but over on Reddit, lots of gamers are supporting the Fortnite approach for the game.

In a post on the r/modernwarfare subreddit, a user by the name of blazeryan11 voiced their opinions on Modern Warfare, suggesting that Infinity Ward needs to implement a strategy used by Epic Games to ensure that the community will be getting the best experience from the game.

The user calls on Infinity Ward to “Run Test Gamemodes with settings that the community has been asking for.” Their suggestions include “a test gamemode with normal minimap,” “a test gamemode with toned down SBMM” and “a test gamemode without blue dots on your teammates if they’re on the opposite side of walls.”

blazeryan11 explains in more detail: “Fortnite did this back in February of last year. In this Shooting Test 1, they adjusted multiple things such as damage fall off ranges, headshot critical hits, and weapons having first shot accuracy.

“These tests were a major success with the community. The developers were able to get a ton of raw data to see how these changes affected the community and the meta. After making some changes, eventually some of these adjustments made it into the game officially.

“Infinity Ward, you have an amazing game on your hands…the only issue with your testing behind the scenes is that you’re getting no community feedback. Just because you don’t think it works, doesn’t mean the rest of us think it doesn’t either.”

At the time of writing, the Reddit post has over 8k of upvotes, with players crying out for Infinity Ward to take note of the suggestions. We already know there’s no plans in the works to change up the game’s mini-map, but honestly, community-led test runs seem like an amazing idea for Modern Warfare.

Here’s hoping Infinity Ward is listening!
