Guerrilla Games has yet to confirm (or deny) the existence of a sequel to the iconic PlayStation classic, Horizon Zero Dawn, but more and more evidence of it has been appearing.
The latest hint of Horizon Zero Dawn 2 comes directly from the Guerrilla Games website [via ComicBook], where a new job listing seems to suggest the company is hiring for a HZD sequel.
The job listing in question calls for a ‘Lead Creature Animator,’ whose job will be focused on quality and realism. The listing reads: “As a Lead Creature Animator, you will be part of a diverse team of animators that collaborates closely with Game Design, Visual Design and Code to create engaging creatures for our compelling gameplay.
“Having a dedicated creature team means, you will have the chance to focus full time on setting the bar as high as possible in terms of aesthetic and in-game requirements for the creature animation quality.”
Creatures you say? Definitely sounds like it could be a role for a Horizon Zero Dawn fan…
This isn’t the first time we’ve seen job advertisements for what could be a HZD sequel. Back in November last year, the team was on the hunt for a Technical Vegetation Artist, writing that the role would focus on “the creation of vegetation assets that are used to dress the game world.”
The listing explains: “Within Guerrilla, we have four teams dedicated to creating the stunning environments of Horizon [and] one team focuses on the creation of lush and stunning vegetation.”
Judging from the timing, it’s pretty safe to assume that Horizon Zero Dawn 2 will be making its way to the PlayStation 5 rather than the PS4, with just a few months to go until the PS5’s Holiday 2020 release.
Whether or not this really could be Horizon Zero Dawn remains to be see. Hopefully we’ll see an announcement in the coming months!
