More Unannounced Xbox Games Coming This Year, Confirms Microsoft

Microsoft’s Director of Program Management has teased that even more unannounced Xbox games are arriving this year, suggesting it’s set to be a great year for Xbox Series X|S owners.

During the recent episode of the Iron Lords podcast, the hosts were joined by Jason Ronald of Microsoft. Ronald teased that we’re going to be getting more Xbox titles before this year is out, which is music to my ears [via WCCFTech].

When Ronald was asked what announced video games he’s most looking forward to in 2021, he replied: “Not all games that are releasing this year have been announced”.

Seeing the lack of exclusive titles that have arrived on Xbox Series X|S since the next-gen console launched November 2020, it should come as little surprise that Microsoft has more than one unannounced title up its sleeves.

Exclusive titles are what the console is in desperate need of, especially as the Xbox Series X|S launched without a single exclusive, a first for the brand.

The first big exclusive to arrive on Xbox Series X|S was The Medium from Bloober Team, which didn’t release until late January 2021.

Back in January this year, tech blogger and editor Jez Cordon claimed in an episode of The Xbox Two podcast that Xbox Series X|S will be getting two yet-to-be-announced exclusives this year, though it wasn’t revealed what these two games will be.

As most of us know, Halo Infinite was supposed to be the big Xbox Series X|S launch title, until that was delayed until later this year.

So to say that Microsoft’s new-gen console is in desperate need of some big exclusives this year is an understatement. Despite the lack of exclusives, the Xbox Series X|S consoles have been selling like hotcakes, as evidenced by the continued stock shortages.

So what could these unannounced games actually be? While we have no clue, it’s always fun to speculate!

Personally, I think that either a new Forza Motorsport or Forza Horizon is pretty much a given, and I’d love to see a new Gears of War announced. Well, I say “new,” but I’d prefer to see remasters of Gears of War 2 and 3 to follow on from 2015’s Gears of War: Ultimate Edition.

What do you think or hope the unannounced Xbox Series X|S titles will be? Let’s continue the speculation across our social media channels.
