Zelda-Inspired Game Is Currently Causing A Commotion Among Fans

The Legend of Zelda fans have accused an indie developer of “ripping off” the Link’s Awakening remake from the Nintendo Switch.

They say the sincerest form of flattery is imitation, but I think there’s little denying that the developers of Mysplaced are cutting it remarkably close. At a quick glance, you’d be forgiven for thinking that this is the Link’s Awakening remake from 2019.

Mysplaced was developed by Soheyl Ghiami and they took part in IGNs Rogue Space. This is a competition that pits the talents of indie developers against one another for big prize money.

However, fans on social media haven’t been too happy with the similarities of Mysplaced compared to the Link’s Awakening remake.

The resemblance is uncanny

Mysplaced could come to consoles

The intention is to eventually release Mysplaced on PlayStation 5 as well as Xbox Series X/S. So, I guess it’s great for Zelda fans that don’t own a Nintendo Switch, right?

In recent weeks, Mysplaced is not the first indie game to come under heavy criticism from angry Legend of Zelda fans on social media.

The charming Tunic was review bombed on Metacritic due to its similarities to the iconic Nintendo franchise. For the record, Tunic is a wonderful game and it’s on Xbox Game Pass right now, so I recommend checking it out if you can.
