Netflix’s Resident Evil Plot Details Have Reportedly Leaked

The Resident Evil movies might not be everyone’s cup of T-Virus, but the upcoming Netflix series might be about to fill the Leon-shaped gap in your life.

A live-action television series is apparently due to enter production later this year, and the first supposed plot details have already leaked online.

As always, take the leak with a pinch of salt until we hear otherwise however, this does seem pretty legit if you ask me.

The leak reportedly comes from Netflix itself, as series details were shared to the Netflix Media Center before swiftly being taken down. The info was spotted by ResetERA userĀ Jawmuncher, and you can check it out for yourself via theĀ Wayback Machine.

The synopsis reads as follows:

“The town of Clearfield, MD has long stood in the shadow of three seemingly unrelated behemoths – the Umbrella Corporation, the decommissioned Greenwood Asylum, and Washington, D.C. Today, twenty-six years after the discovery of the T-Virus, secrets held by the three will start to be revealed at the first signs of outbreak.”

Colour me excited, because this is sounding like the Resident Evil adaptation we’ve all been dreaming of. Hopefully the series really will take on this plot in one way or another, because this has definitely piqued my interest.

According to a previous leak, the Resident Evil series will consist of eight one-hour episodes and is due to enter production in June of this year. It’s believed that the shoot will take place in South Africa.

Production is expect to wrap up in October, meaning we could be seeing the series as early as 2021.Ā

Now that Netflix has proven itself with its fantastic take on The Witcher, I’m almost ready to forgive the streaming service for that god-awful live-action Death Note movie.
