The Dead Space games are an absolute treasure, and the man who created the series is getting ready to reveal his next project. As revealed by Take-Two Interactive, Dead Space creator Michael Condrey, and his new studio, 2K Silicon Valley, are gearing up to reveal their next big game.
According to Take-Two, the mysterious project will be unveiled to the world in “the coming months,” and will be published by 2K Games.
Unfortunately but predictably, that’s all that was mentioned on the topic, leaving us to speculate on what the project might be.
Condrey, who co-founded original Call of Duty studio, Sledgehammer Games, has some stellar hits under his belt, and I can’t wait to see what his next game has to offer.
Previous bodies of work of Condrey’s not only include Dead Space, but also Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare. Personally I’d like to see Condrey return to his horror roots.
Sadly, the Dead Space franchise is all but dead in the water at this stage, but with such a huge fanbase behind it, have we really seen the last of the series?
Well, the producer of the original Dead Space, Glen Schofield, certainly thinks there’s life in the old dog yet, and he’s even got some pretty well-thought-out ideas for a sequel.
Last year, Schofield said if given the chance he’d go back to basics with the lore, scrapping the overly-complex storylines and history brought in by the second and third games.
He went on to add that a multiplayer game is more likely to get the a-okay from EA, as it would show longevity for the title. If he was heading the project, Schofield said he’d “start” with multiplayer, though he didn’t say he’d entirely abandon a single-player campaign.
