A new The Lord of the Rings movie will be soon in development and it will tell the tale during the fall of Morgoth, claims a new rumour.

The reports come courtesy of Daniel Richtman’s Patreon page (thanks We Got This Covered) which for obvious reasons is locked behind a paywall. Of course we do recommend supporting the Patreon if you want the full story!
The report claims that the new The Lord of the Rings movie will be feature-length, and based upon the rise and fall of Morgoth. Interestingly, it will allegedly be one of a few upcoming LOTR movies.

Richtman claims that he has “heard they are developing more LOTR films,” one of which will be “about the Fall of Morgoth”.
Morgoth was essentially the first Dark Lord of Middle Earth, prior to the more well-known Sauron.

Apparently Richtman doesn’t say much else on his Patreon page in regards to the rumoured Morgoth movie, so make of it as you will. If you want to find out all the details, you can support Richtman on Patreon right here.
However as with all rumours, gossip and speculation, you must take them all with a pinch of salt.

Earlier this month details on the synopsis for Amazon’s The Lord of the Rings series was revealed for their billion-dollar adaptation. The synopsis reads:
“This epic drama is set thousands of years before the events of J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings, and will take viewers back to an era in which great powers were forged, kingdoms rose to glory and fell to ruin, unlikely heroes were tested, hope hung by the finest of threads, and the greatest villain that ever flowed from Tolkien’s pen threatened to cover all the world in darkness.
“Beginning in a time of relative peace, the series follows an ensemble cast of characters, both familiar and new, as they confront the long-feared re-emergence of evil to Middle-earth. From the darkest depths of the Misty Mountains to the majestic forests of the elf-capital of Lindon, to the breathtaking island kingdom of Númenor, to the furthest reaches of the map, these kingdoms and characters will carve out legacies that live on long after they are gone.”
It sounds like Lord of the Rings fans might be in for an interesting few years!
