The next Resident Evil Village demo is on the way, and it will reportedly feature a direct part of the final game.
Back in January during the Resident Evil Village reveal event, a playable demo was released called “Maiden”.

The Maiden demo features no direct combat (though you can die in it), with its purpose being more to show off its wonderful graphics. It’s a very short but sweet demo, and standalone. What this means is that the demo we played through won’t feature in the final game.
The Maiden demo is also only available on PlayStation 5, however, the developers did promise that a new demo would release this spring on all available platforms.
Now we know more about the next Resident Evil Village demo thanks to Alex Aniel, Resident Evil fan and author of “Itchy Tasty: An Unofficial History of Resident Evil.”
Taking to Twitter, Aniel shared some of the RE Village tidbits he’d found via the Japanese media outlet, Famitsu.
Aniel tweeted he was “reading the Famitsu coverage for the Resident Evil 25th Anniversary now.”
In a thread, Aniel then went on to share some reported news on the next RE Village demo, stating Capcom told Famitsu that the next demo will be a direct part of the game.
“Capcom also confirms in Famitsu that the next Resident Evil Village demo after MAIDEN will feature a portion taken from the final game, unlike MAIDEN, which is purely a visual demo that was meant to be a technical showcase,” tweeted Aniel.
Sadly, Aniel didn’t share any snapshots of the Famitsu and Capcom interview, but it’s almost definitely safe to assume this is a correct translation of the publication.
Considering that next week is the 25th anniversary of the Resident Evil franchise, it’s likely that Capcom will spill more guts on Resident Evil Village soon. I can’t wait!
Resident Evil Village will release for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S on May 7th.
