Nintendo announces new Direct for later this week

The news that everybody has been waiting for is finally here. Nintendo Direct will be airing on Wednesday, February 8.

Today, Nintendo has announced their Nintendo Direct will feature up to 40 minutes of Switch game news. It will air on February 8, 2023 at 5:00 p.m. ET / 2:00 p.m. PT and is expected to announce the upcoming games for the first half of the year.

Although Nintendo hasn’t told us exactly which games will be featured, we can take a guess at a few. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, Bayonetta Origins: Cereza and the Lost Demon and Kirby’s Return to Dream Land Deluxe are to name a few that we might see.

What else?

Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp is also on the cards for Nintendo. This remake of the Game Boy Advance-era Advance Wars games has faced delays but has been rumoured to be heading to Switch soon.

Additionally, Pikmin 4 may be getting some spotlight especially as there’s not currently much information about this instalment. Although the Direct has stated the games featured will be for the first half of 2023, hopefully we will see some future teases too. This could include Hollow Knight: Silksong which is reportedly due to be released in the second quarter of the year.

Upcoming dates for Nintendo

Although Nintendo will be skipping E3 this year, the Direct will hopefully be an exciting and informative event. Additionally, Nintendo is gearing up for the opening of the Super Nintendo Land theme park in Universal Studios Hollywood on February 17.

Finally, they are also set to take over cinemas with the April 7 release of The Super Mario Bros. Movie. It’s definitely set to be an exciting few months for the company.
