Nintendo Reveals New Pokémon Game, Pokémon Unite

A new Pokémon game has just been revealed by Nintendo during one of the company’s new “Pokémon Presents” live shows.

New strategic Pokémon battle game, Pokémon Unite, is currently being developed with help from Tencent, and was given the spotlight for the event. Sadly, it was only game shown off, but I guess we can’t have it all.

The co-operative game is essentially a MOBA, and will utilise team-based battle play to bring gamers together. Two teams of five Pokemon each will join together and co-operate in battle, scoring points against a time limit.

Pokémon Unite will be a free-to-start game. You can check it out in action in the reveal trailer below!

The game isn’t exactly what players are clamouring for, which is a new Let’s Go game (Johto, specifically, is being called for). Meanwhile, we’re all still hanging on to hope that beloved classic, Pokémon Diamond and Pearl, might also be seeing the remake/remaster treatment.

Still, it’s definitely not a bad time to be a fan of the pocket monsters!

Last week, it was revealed that Pokémon Snap would be revived for the Nintendo Switch. Entitled New Pokémon Snap, the game looks seriously impressive!

Pokémon Smile was also revealed. The free app will help younger children to enjoy brushing their teeth with AR elements. You can download it on mobile now, for both iOS and Android.

Pokémon Cafe Mix, a new puzzle game arrived today on mobile and Nintendo Switch. The gameplay sees you link character icons, and is “free to start.”

Meanwhile, Pokémon Sword and Shield’s new Expansion Passes also launched last week, finally letting people’s Pokémon follow them around the map. Another expansion will be launching in Autumn 2020.
