No Man’s Sky’s next update will launch on July 24th and adds the long awaited multiplayer to the infamous game.
Sean Murray, who is the creator of No Man’s Sky, appeared on the latest Inside Xbox livestream to make this announcement. Murray described it as No Man’s Sky’s “Biggest update so far”. He also went on to say that it will create a “full multiplayer experience”.
Players will now be able to play with their friends to survive, build, explore the massive universe that No Man’s Sky creates.
Murray also said “It’s the kind of game that myself and a lot of other people have always wanted to play in a multiplayer world.”
However this may be too little too late for the game as it was shunned for releasing with players thoughts that they could play alongside their friends from day 1. This made many of the gamers who bought the game on release angry and many on steam even refunding the game completely.
It also lead to a huge amount of negative reviews on the Steam platform and to this day has 56,589 negative reviews. (36,340 positive reviews also).
Murray also said that people will hopefully come to see “the potential that everyone’s always seen in No Man’s Sky”. However the Steam review above seems to think the hype train is already passed the station.
The next update will be free to existing owners – will be included in new purchases of the game on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
