Physical GTA Trilogy Definitive Editions Don’t Have Maps Or Manuals

Physical copies of the GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition are now out in the wild, and there’s a good chance a number of fans are going to end up disappointed.

Released digitally earlier this year, the remake disappointed fans with its unfinished state. Rockstar delayed the release of the physical edition, while it works to fix the trilogy’s numerous issues.

Some fans have managed to get their hands on a copy early ahead of the game’s December 17th release, and disappointingly there is no map or manual included inside the case. A major part of past GTA releases was the inclusion of a world map, alongside a manual. Many players, myself included, would stick the maps up while playing the game.

The series has always produced engaging manuals as well, featuring information about the game and lore from the world itself. Manuals and extras are much less rare in standard editions of video games now, but it would have been a nice touch for long-time fans of the series.

The reveal arrives courtesy of Twitter user @Matheusbr9895_ who filmed themselves opening the box yesterday. Upon opening the box, the case simply contains the disk, and nothing else. Considering these are supposedly the definitive editions of the games, it’s a shame they are missing such a fundamental part of the entire experience.

Elsewhere, it has been confirmed that the GTA Online servers on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 will shut down on Thursday. Those playing GTA V on those platforms will no longer be able to access the online portion of the title. You’re safe if you’re on Xbox One or PS4 though!
