PlayStation Plus Gets One Of The Most Iconic Horror Games Of All Time

PlayStation Plus Premium is getting one of the most iconic survival horror games of all time, Resident Evil: Director’s Cut.

The newly revised PlayStation Plus has now gone live in the USA, following its release in Asian regions. The PS Plus Premium tier includes PS1, PS2, PS3, PS4, PS5 as well as PSP titles.

One of the biggest draws to subscribing to the PS Plus Premium tier is the addition of classic PS1 titles. Not only will these classic titles look extra clean in HD, but they will also have brand new features. Some of the new features include rewind, quick save and custom filters.

Director’s Cut came with new features

As shared in a tweet from Nibel, one of those classic titles includes Resident Evil: Director’s Cut. This version of the OG classic included two additional difficulty modes, Arrange Mode and Beginner Mode. The Director’s Cut also had other changes and improvements over the original.

Other changes included the Beretta 92F being replaced with the Beretta 92F Inox. This newer version of the handgun had a faster firing rate and was more capable of one-shotting certain enemies. It also had a wood grip and is considered to be an iteration of the Samurai Edge.

Forest Speyer, a member of the S.T.A.R.S team who was pecked to death by crows can now come alive (so to speak) under certain story conditions. Some zombies were also made to move faster and in terms of gameplay, improvements were also made to the DualShock controller including vibration, and more.

No bad music here

The Resident Evil: Director’s Cut is also renowned for its bad music due to legal disputes with composers. Fans are well aware of that awful basement music. Thankfully, the version of RE Director’s Cut is the first edition, so there’s no bad music in this version. Of course, that’s bad news for those that enjoyed the awful music.

Every Main Resident Evil Ranked Worst To Best

From what I can tell, Resident Evil: Director’s Cut isn’t available in Asian regions at the time of writing. Hopefully, RE Director’s Cut will be available in other regions of the revised PS Plus including Europe when it launches later this month.

Furthermore, now that we know for sure that the PS Plus Premium Tier includes RE Director’s Cut, hopefully, we’ll also see RE2 and RE3 included in the line-up. Ok, and you too Resident Evil Survivor.
