Sounds like Bully 2 could really be happening!

Although Rockstar Games might now be better-known for titles like Grand Theft Auto and Red Dead Redemption, it’s also the team behind one of the most beloved PlayStation 2 titles ever – Bully (or Canis Canem Edit, if you’re in the UK). Bully 2 has certainly been a long time coming.

Bully, released in 2006, was essentially GTA in a school environment where, as a troubled pupil in a boarding school, you beat kids up, accepted quests and generally skated around causing havoc. It was a beautiful time.

Bully 2 has been on the wish-list of almost as many gamers as Half-Life 3 is, but it seems we might actually really be getting the sequel. Hooray!

Leaked casting calls have found their way online, and – although they’re scarce on detail – this definitely sounds like Rockstar is in the market for the cast of Bully 2.

When will Bully 2 be released?

There is no official release date for the long awaited sequel yet but looking at how long Rockstar games take to get made it could be a few years yet.

Rockstar Intel, a site dedicated to leaking rumours about upcoming Rockstar projects, writes: “We have reason to believe that casting calls related to Rockstar Games’ upcoming title Bully 2 have been released by a Casting Director who is not disclosing much information about the title or developer, as is expected.”

The seven casting calls are reportedly for a “new unannounced video game title with a leading UK games developer, shooting at Pinewood Studios.” Interestingly, the roles are mainly for teens and pre-teens, and the casting call warns that “Mild violence and profanity will be used in scenes with the young performer.”

Sounds like the Bully we know and love…

Rockstar Intel goes on to state “The project itself is a thriller/drama,” and even directly calls out for school staff members, specifically “college professors.” The site also adds that Rockstar staff members have been seen accessing the listing – though it won’t confirm who or how.

There’s been rumours of a Bully 2 in the works for a while now, with people claiming insider knowledge that ‘confirms’ the sequel will be the next game Rockstar released after Red Dead Redemption 2. What do you think about the news? Could this really be the highly-anticipated Bully sequel, or are we about to get our hopes and dreams crushed once again…?
