Puma Teases Official Sonic The Hedgehog Movie Sneakers

Sports brand Puma is teasing a collaboration with the upcoming Sonic the Hedgehog movie, and the internet is pretty happy about it.

As you can see in the Puma ad below, the company is seemingly teasing a pair (if not a whole range) of Sonic-themed sneakers, and personally, I’m hoping they’re the classic red and white.

Although we don’t yet know what the shoe line looks like, it’s probably unlikely they’re going to make you go fast.

We hopefully won’t have too long to wait until the reveal of the sneakers, as the Sonic the Hedgehog movie is dropping in theatres worldwide on Feb 14.

Despite having its controversies, the upcoming movie is set to make a splash in the cinema. Originally criticised for its design choices, the moviemakers went back to the drawing board and managed to redesign a much less-terrifying Sonic for our viewing pleasure.

Although the redesigned Sonic for the Sonic the Hedgehog live-action movie is loved by fans, the game series’ original creator still wants to see the original get his time on the silver screen.

Yuji Naka, the former lead of the Sonic game team, has given his opinion on the new look of everyone’s favourite blue hedgehog, but has admitted he would love to see the first iteration in the movie.

Will that happen? Probably not, but tbf I’d like to see it too.

The Sonic movie’s official description reads as follows: “Based on the global blockbuster videogame franchise from Sega, SONIC THE HEDGEHOG tells the story of the world’s speediest hedgehog as he embraces his new home on Earth.

“In this live-action adventure comedy, Sonic and his new best friend Tom (James Marsden) team up to defend the planet from the evil genius Dr. Robotnik (Jim Carrey) and his plans for world domination. The family-friendly film also stars Tika Sumpter and Ben Schwartz as the voice of Sonic.”

Catch the live-action Sonic the Hedgehog movie in cinemas from February 14.
