Read Dead Redemption 2 is set to be one of the biggest games of the year, but the upcoming title from Rockstar Games has gotten fans pretty p*ssed off and for one pretty good reason.
A Reddit user by the name of F*ck_Online_Gaming recently posted one of the game’s images, with the added caption: “Red Dead 2 purposly [sic] removes content on day 1 unless you pay an extra $20.
“Please Don’t Pre-Order this game if you value full single player experiences at reasonable prices.”
Titled “Why is this okay when its [sic] Rockstar but not when its [sic] EA?” the post has gotten a lot of Red Dead fans riled up.
Pre-ordering the game’s Special Edition allows for extra missions, a gang hideout, extra weapons and gameplay bonuses according to the information released by Rockstar.
Although not exactly the best extras for those willing to fork out the cash for the Special Edition, there definitely is a reason for you to choose that over the regular, as you will be unlocking more of the single player campaign with the Special version of the game.
EA is notorious amongst gamers for including costly add-ons to their games fairly early on following their release, giving them a bit of a reputation for in-game microtransactions and other optional content inclusions.
More and more gamers are choosing to skip pre-orders because of issues like this with previous games in the past.
One user commented on the Reddit post saying: “I don’t preorder games in general. Not since EA ruined Andromeda and SWBF2.”
Another agreed, commenting: ”I have to be fairly certain before I put the money down.”
Red Dead Redemption 2 is due to release 26th October, 2018, with pre-orders already open if you are looking to pick up the title.
It will be released on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
