Red Dead Redemption Remaster Might Be Coming Before GTA 6

A fresh new round of ‘rumours’ has suggested that the Red Dead Redemption Remaster will come before GTA 6 (via GameRant).

The original Red Dead Redemption first graced our consoles in 2010, selling millions of copies and winning numerous awards. Despite providing players with the ultimate spaghetti-western simulator, the game has yet to be given the remastered treatment. This means that the original Red Dead Redemption has been confined to gaming’s 7th generation, hardware specs and all.

Naturally, many ‘rumours’ have emerged over the years concerning Red Dead’s remastered redemption. Rockstar’s revival will release before Grand Theft Auto 6, which is slated for 2023, (according to this particular leak). The information has since been taken down. However, it was initially posted on 4chan as part of a “leaker AMA” (via GameRant).

All details of the aforementioned 4chan post can be viewed via the “Gaming Leaks and Rumours” Reddit page. For ease, it’s been condensed down into bullet points. Amongst various GTA 6 details, the post states that “RDR1 is technically being “remastered” and coming before GTAVI” (via Reddit).

The ‘leak’ also covers overlapping rumours, such as the new GTA having a female protagonist. However, this specific ‘leak’ states that idea has been scrapped. That being said, there’s nothing to say these latest ‘rumours’ are true. Especially since Rockstar has managed to be so tight-lipped about any of their projects.

What if Rockstar does have a Red Dead Redemption Remaster in the works? Well, it’s entirely possible that it’ll release before the developer’s next GTA instalment. Until then, fans will have to dust off their old copies of the cowboy caper and saddle up for an experience that will feel slightly dated in comparison to its sequel.
