Another week, another set of Rockstar rumours to get GTA fans riled up. This time, it’s a recent job listing that has given us cause to speculate about the impending release of GTA 6.
According to the careers section of the Rockstar Games website, the company is looking for a “Cinematic Gameplay Capture Artist” for work on a new trailer. Working alongside the video editing and gameplay capture teams, the position will task successful candidates with producing “outstanding videos using exclusively in-game shots” [via ComicBook].
The job listing of course suggests that Rockstar is getting to work on a new trailer, but avoids explicitly mentioning GTA 6. This means that Rockstar could merely be making a trailer for its upcoming enhanced GTA 5 port. There’s also every chance that the trailer could be for a GTA Remastered Collection, also rumoured to be in development.
Rockstar has remained tight-lipped since word first began to circulate about GTA 6’s development. Despite having never been officially revealed, various rumours and reports have given fans cause to revel at the prospect of a new crime caper.
So far, we’ve heard that GTA’s next protagonist will be female and that the game’s plot will take place in Vice City. Whether or not these rumours have any merit remains to be seen, but the evidence is certainly compelling.
GTA isn’t the only Rockstar creation being subjected to speculation. Rumours have also been brewing regarding Red Dead Redemption.
According to online hearsay, the original Red Dead Redemption is getting a new-gen remaster and will release before GTA 6. The game has yet to be ported to anything outside of the PS3 and Xbox 360, so it’d make sense for a new release.
Regardless of any rumours, it’s only a matter of time before Rockstar solves any suspicions we might have. What do you think the Rockstar job listing might point to?
