Rockstar Games Teases ‘Fun Surprises’ For GTA 3 Fans

Rockstar Games has not only confirmed the release date for the highly-anticipated PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions of GTA 5, but has also teased gamers with news of GTA 3.

As noted by GameSpot, Rockstar Games has a new-gen release date for GTA 5 of November 11, 2021. The PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions of the game will “feature a range of technical improvements, visual upgrades and performance enhancements to take full advantage of the latest hardware, making the game more beautiful and more responsive than ever“. Sounds good to me!

While the news of the new-gen GTA 5 is definitely music to my eyes, it’s Rockstar’s comments on the 20th anniversary of the beloved GTA 3 which have caught my eye.

Rockstar has confirmed that GTA 3 fans will be in for a treat with “even more fun surprises” to come this year – which has sparked hope that there could be some truth to the rumours of a GTA 3 remake or remaster.

GameSpot notes that some of these GTA 3 “surprises” will consist of content for GTA Online, but it’s hoped the rumoured GTA 3 remaster could be still happening.

Whether or not we really will get a new way to play GTA 3 later this year remains to be seen, and it’s best to take the rumour with a pinch of salt, as always. However, at least we now know when we can expect GTA 5 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S – plus there’s GTA 3 content coming to GTA Online!
