Sam Fisher Actor Teases A New Splinter Cell Game Is Coming

Ubisoft is already pretty well-prepped for the end of the current generation of console gaming thanks to Watch Dogs: Legion and Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, but is another beloved franchise destined for next-gen?

Gaming performance actor, Luca Ward, who plays Sam Fisher in the Splinter Cell series has teased he’s making a return, suggesting a new game could be on the cards.

Speaking with Italian publication Multiplayer.it [translated by VG247], Ward hinted that the end of Splinter Cell definitely wasn’t nigh, though of course, he didn’t go into specifics.

“There is this return of Splinter Cell which should take place I think for a conclusive episode, but I’m not sure about this,” said Ward.

“However they have not yet figured out whether to do it in 2021. Before it had to be 2020, then what happened and in 2020 several big projects got stuck. Others went on like Cyberpunk 2077 on which I have almost finished working.”

He added: “But I am sure that Splinter Cell will return, this is a fact.”

We know that Ubisoft is working on a hefty stack of games right now (including Beyond Good and Evil 2 because, like, what’s happened with that?) but beyond any already-announced games, we’re pretty much in the dark.

Earlier this year, video games insider Jason Schreier claimed that a new Splinter Cell wasn’t in the works, before (correctly) revealing Ubisoft’s next big releases would be Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and Far Cry 6.

Of course, this was back in February of this year, so things could definitely have changed since then. Keep your fingers crossed for a new Splinter Cell game!
