It seems that fans have discovered a Silent Hills P.T easter egg in Death Stranding: Director’s Cut for PlayStation 5. Spooky!
The Death Stranding: Director’s Cut was recently released for PS5, and it comes with improved visuals and performance, as well as gameplay tweaks, new missions and much more. However, fans are discovering more than they had expected.
It’s quite unbelievable to think that the Silent Hills P.T demo was released way back on August 12th, 2014. Has it really been that long? Following the messy divorce between Hideo Kojima and Konami, P.T was removed from the PS Store in April 2015, and the game was subsequently cancelled.
To this day, it still saddens me that we never got to see Hideo Kojima’s vision of Silent Hill with Guillermo del Toro. The game would also feature The Walking Dead star, Norman Reedus as the lead. The fact that people are still talking about P.T to this day, which was only a demo, just shows how much love fans continue to have for this project.
Our hearts still ache for P.T
However, as reported by GamesRadar, fans have discovered what seems to be a Silent Hills P.T easter egg in Death Stranding: Director’s Cut. Now as a warning, if you want to experience this homage for yourself, there will be some spoilers. That said, you’ve seen the headline and you’ve clicked to read the article, so here we are.
It’s also worth noting that our reviewer noticed this scene too. Due to not playing through the original game though they were not aware it was a new scene but did still find it terrifying. You can check out a video of it at the top of the page.
On Twitter, YouTuber Suzi Hunter shared an image of a ghostly silhouette standing in the shower area of Sam Porter Bridges private room. Fans of P.T will instantly recognise the silhouette resembling Lisa from the iconic demo.
From what people are saying online, this cut-scene is new to the Death Stranding: Director’s Cut and having finished the PS4 version, I have not experienced this moment for myself. So I hope that I will encounter it soon on PS5.
