Sims 4 Fans Are Disappointed With The Latest Content Roadmap

Maxis has released a content roadmap for The Sims 4, which will see the release of a new game pack and two kits, which fans are finding disappointing.

The game pack and kits currently have a release window of May and June this year. But what each is, and when they specifically are coming out hasn’t been confirmed. The teaser trailer certainly has a bit of a light night atmosphere to it. With the teaser providing the tagline “Stay up in The Sims.” Again, what this means is anyone’s guess, but it does presumably mean that the content will be evening focused.

In general, fans think that the pack is either going to be a nightlife-esque, clubbing style pack. Or possibly a werewolf themed pack, which would make sense with some of the moon theming seen in the trailer. Though the little traditionally green plumbob also has a bit of a neon look to it, so the nightlife theory could very easily be true too.

But while there is of course some excitement for new content, there are also a number of fans that feel unhappy with the announcement. This content roadmap for The Sims 4 doesn’t have any mention of a full on expansion, which some find disappointing. And the last full expansion, Cottage Living, was released in July 2021. Meaning by the time all of this new content is out, a whole year would have passed without mention of a new expansion.

Some fans also thought the initial tease was for The Sims 5, though this was always going to be unlikely. But it does highlight how the community is looking for something a bit more than what they’re getting.  A recent update did flesh out Sims lives though, so it’s not like the team is doing nothing.
