The Last Of Us & Naughty Dog News Is Coming ‘Soon’

Naughty Dog chief Neil Druckmann has teased on Twitter that news on The Last of Us show will be coming “soon.”

Neil Druckmann, writer/director and newly appointed co-president at Naughty Dog has been known to tease his followers from time to time, so you should always take his tweets with a pinch of salt.

However it’s the latest tweet related to a follower commenting on a post by Craig Mazin which has raised eyebrows.

Chris Mazin is the writer/director of the upcoming The Last of Us TV series from HBO. Earlier this week he tweeted a GIF featuring a scene from Scary Movie 3 quoting “7 Days”.

Naturally, especially from us non-American folk our assumptions (or hopes) would be that we might be treated to some new details on The Last of Us TV series or perhaps even a trailer.

However as an American follower pointed out, Chris Mazin was in fact referring to Joe Biden’s presidential inauguration, to which Mazin replied and confirmed that was the case.

Correct,” said Mazin when confirming that his “7 Days” GIF was referring to the inauguration.

However, Mazin did kindly respond to the hopes that we might get details on The Last of Us TV series soon.

There will be some modest TLOU news soon enough. We are hard at work writing and… you know… other stuff,” said Mazin.

The tweet continued: “But my 7 days tweet was about a small, approaching change in American governance. When we can share more about the show, we will!

However it was Druckmann’s cheeky reply to Mazin’s tweet simply saying “soon”, which surely is in reference to The Last of Us TV series.

As for the Naughty Dog studio, it appears that Druckmann has already begun work on the next project, which we assume is the multiplayer mode for The Last of Us Part 2.

Druckmann retweeted a Naughty Dog Jobs posting, writing: “Come work with us! We’re making something very cool!” This essentially confirms that the wheels are turning over at Naughty Dog, with its next project already apparently underway.

In truth there’s not a lot to go on here but the tweets from both Mazin and Druckmann do lead us to believe that further details for the highly anticipated The Last of Us TV series will be revealed soon (hopefully). As for the secret Naughty Dog project, hopefully we’ll get an announcement in the coming months.

Are you excited for The Last of Us TV series or are you more hyped for news on the next project from Naughty Dog?
