To say that The Mandalorian’s first season was a success is an understatement to say the least.  Even if you’ve never watched the series, the chances are that if you have a social media profile, you would have likely had seen countless memes featuring “Baby Yoda” (officially known as “The Child”) sipping tea, eating frogs and perhaps snacking on some chicky nuggies.

Heck, in the UK where we had to wait months after the U.S for The Mandalorian to release on Disney+, avoiding memes and spoilers was a very challenging task to put it mildly. However, the UK and others fans outside of the U.S will be happy to know that season two will release worldwide on October 30th.

But let’s get back to news on that third season.  According to an article from Variety, The Mandalorian executive producer and showrunner Jon Favreau, (who fans might more commonly know as Happy Hogan, loyal friend and employee of Tony Stark from the Marvel Cinematic Universe), revealed that season three will begin filming “before the end of the year,”.

Favreau also added that while they are in “no rush” to do so, he is “definitely open” to the prospect of a movie emerging from The Mandalorian series. He told the publication: “[I’m] excited to see where the story leads us and have that flexibility, because there’s no rulebook now.”

Due to its mammoth success, it should come as no surprise that The Mandalorian series is expanding beyond the second forthcoming season, with season three being announced earlier this year.
