Tom Holland has said that the upcoming Uncharted movie has given him one of the “biggest action sequences” of his career, during an interview on Variety’s Award Circut podcast [via Screenrant].

The actor is set to play Nathan Drake in the upcoming movie adaptation of Uncharted, and will be joined by Mark Wahlberg as his trusty companion, Sully. Despite currently being Spider-Man, Holland has said that being Nathan Drake has been more risqué, stating that the film features some of the “biggest action sequences I’ve ever been a part of”.
Holland also added: “The cuts and bruises and bangs I got from dangling off of wires and falling off things was ridiculous.”

Sounds like it’s hard work being a treasure hunter! Who’d have thought that old (or young!) Nate would be getting more banged up than web-slinging superhero, eh?
The Uncharted movie was originally supposed to release this year but has been delayed until 2022.
The film is set to feature a younger version of the PlayStation character, serving as sort of an origin story. Before the film’s delay, the official Uncharted Twitter account posted some teaser images which, while pretty, didn’t exactly give us much in the way of details.

Uncharted is just one of many video game franchises getting a TV or movie glow up. We also have a Mortal Kombat film on the way, as well as a series based on The Last of Us and a new Resident Evil reboot. Needless to say, the industry has come a long way from the horrors of the Super Mario Bros and Street Fighter movies.

Uncharted is set to release in 2022, so there’s no doubt that we’ll be hearing lots of news about the film throughout this year. For now, there’s always the Uncharted Collection on PS4.
