The ungodly Forspoken PC system requirements have been revealed and oh my, do you need a beast of a PC to run it!
Forspoken is the latest action RPG from publisher Square Enix and is developed by a new studio featuring some veteran Final Fantasy talents, Luminous Productions.
The Forspoken PC requirements are something else!
This week, the PC system requirements were revealed for Minimum, Recommended as well as Ultra. For the most part, we can often rule out any Minimum requirements. Sure, you can still run the game, but often it won’t be at a decent enough level.
So, Recommended is usually the way to go, as a minimum. However, to even run Forspoken at the Recommended specs, you’ll need a beast of a PC. That’s assuming the game will run smoothly at launch.
Furthermore, to run Forspoken at the Minimum specs, you will need 150GB of hard drive space (or more) and a 3.7GHz and 16GB of Ram. All this so you can run the game at 720p and 30 frames per second!
What about the Recommended and Ultra requirements?
To run Forspoken at the Recommended level of quality, you’re going to need an RTX 3070, an SSD 150GB (or more) and 24GB of Ram. This will grant you a 1440p resolution, but still at 30fps.
However, for the Ultra settings, you’re going to need an RX 6800 XT or RTX 4080, a NvMe SSD 150GB (or more), as well as 32GB of Ram. This will then grant you 2160p at 60fps.
Just by taking a quick glance at the specs, it seems that Forspoken isn’t optimised for PC all that well. Moreover, even at the Ultra settings, there’s no guarantee that the game is going to be smooth sailing. Though, I hope I’m wrong.

- AMD Radeon RX 5500 XT 8GB or Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 6GB
- 16GB RAM
- 160GB hard drive space
Recommended (1440p 30fps)
- AMD Ryzen 5 3600 or Intel Core i7-8700K (3.7GHz or better)
- AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT 12GB or Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070 8GB
- 24GB RAM
- 150GB Solid State Drive
Ultra (4K 60fps)
- AMD Ryzen 5 5800X or Intel Core i7-12700 (3.8GHz or better)
- AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT 16GB or Nvidia GeForce RTX 4080 16GB
- 32GB RAM
- 150GB NVMe Solid State Drive
When is the Forspoken release date?
Forspoken will release for PC and PlayStation 5 next week on Tuesday, January 24th. The game will be a PS5 console exclusive for at least two years, as confirmed by Sony. What’s more, a playable demo is available right now via the PS Store for PS5.
