Iconic Vaas Actor Admits To Never Actually Playing Far Cry 3

Despite being one of the most iconic villains in the series, Vaas Montenegro’s actor has admitted to having never played Far Cry 3.

Far Cry 3, even now, is pretty highly regarded as the best entry in the series. People love it for a whole range of reasons, from the shooting, to the stealth, to so much more. But for all that it is, it turns out that Vaas actor Michael Mando hasn’t actually played Far Cry 3 itself.

Mando recently participated in an Ask Me Anything over on the AmA subreddit. One fan asked if the actor had ever played Far Cry 3, or any other game in the series, and what he found it like. But Mando hasn’t played the game.

what did mando say?

I’ve never played Far Cry 3 but I’ve watched friends play it,” wrote Mando. “I think what they can do with the video game world is fascinating and I’d be interested in taking on a new character in that realm again. It’s a very rich and still new form of storytelling – one that will be around for a long, long time and will only keep evolving…

Honestly, it’s completely fair that Mando hasn’t played the game. The actor is predominantly a live action actor, having appeared in Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul. As well as Spider-Man: Homecoming, and many more films and television series.

So the world of video games isn’t as familiar to him as the big and small screen. But it does seem like Vaas means a lot to him as a character. “My international break came with Vaas Montenegro in Far Cry 3,” explained Mando in a separate answer. “

“I was lucky enough to have co-created that character with Ubisoft. Truth is, no one knew he would become so iconic – it all picked up after the Definition Monologue went viral within a few days after the E3 convention. I was never supposed to be on the cover of the game sleeve either… It’s honestly thanks to the fans… It was really a surprise.

Vass will likely continue to go down as a notable video game villain. So who cares if his actor has played the game or not.

And if you haven’t played Far Cry 3 in a while, it’s one of the numerous titles that received an FPS boost on Xbox Series X/S.
