A Western release for a new (to the west at least) Persona game has reportedly leaked. Thanks to Indonesian retailer PS Enterprise, it seems that Persona 5 Scramble is getting a Western release for both PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch.
The news was brought to our attention by Persona 5 Twitter fan account “Has Persona 5 Scramble Been Translated”.
Persona 5 Scramble is a crossover title between Koei Tecmo’s Dynasty Warriors series and Atlus’ role-playing Persona series. Rather than just being a turn-based RPG or a hack and slash, Persona 5 Scramble incorporates both aspects of combat from each game.
At this time, Persona 5 Scramble has only been available within Asia, however that looks to be changing very soon. According to the retail listing, Persona 5 Scramble will release in the West February 23rd, 2021.
It was originally assumed that Persona 5 Scramble would just be a PS4 release, but a listing later showed up for the Nintendo Switch. The Nintendo Switch version later appeared via a Pakistani retailer.
For those that might be sceptical that the retail listings are fake, the news was also confirmed by Pladidus Santoso, a respected video game journalist, who is said to have reliable sources within Indonesia.
“Pladidus Santoso is a game journalist. And he is one of the most trusted sources in Indonesia,” said the Persona 5 fan account.
According to a number of Asian retailers, Persona 5 Scramble will be fully translated into English complete with voiceovers.
It is said that the English translation is all but complete and if that is the case, we might very well see Persona 5 Scramble release on the rumoured date of February 23rd.
Persona 5 Scramble released back in February of this year in Japan, then in China and South Korea in June.
Despite all the excitement as always until this news is officially confirmed, we must take all leaks and rumours with a pinch of salt.
