Xbox has announced it will be releasing a game by Kojima Productions exclusively across its own systems.
Rumours about Hideo Kojima’s new game surfaced in recent weeks after a series of leaks. Now, it seems like there was some truth to those insider facts.
Revealed during the Xbox + Bethesda Showcase on Sunday evening, Kojima revealed he was working on the game he had always wanted to work on, that utilises the cloud streaming technology of modern game design.
“Xbox Game Studios & Kojima Productions are partnering to create a video game for Xbox like no one has ever experienced before, leveraging the cloud,” says Xbox in an official statement. “Hideo Kojima is one of the most innovative minds in our industry, and we can’t wait to share what our teams will create.“
Although not confirmed in the reveal, leaks have mentioned the possibility of it being named “Overdose” and it being a horror game. Only time will tell if there’s any truth to those rumours.
Kojima is also apparently working on Death Stranding 2, if recent confirmation by Norman Reedus is anything to go by. If Death Stranding 2 is a PlayStation console exclusive like the first one was, then Kojima is developing exclusive titles for both systems at the moment.
