A fan has recreated Kakariko Village from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time using Unreal Engine 5 and it looks incredible.
The talented fan in question goes by the name RwanLink and is a self-taught animation and Unreal Engine artist that loves to create The Legend of Zelda content. RwanLink’s YouTube channel is full of Zelda goodness, including wonderful animations and more.
RwanLink’s remake is not to be confused with another awesome Unreal Engine Ocarina of Time fan remake from 2018.
However, we’re here to focus on the amazing recreation of Kakariko Village, one of the most well-known locations from Ocarina of Time. So far two videos of Kakariko Village have been uploaded by RwanLink. Using the new features of Unreal Engine 5, the work is a joy to behold.
Ocarina of Time has never looked so good!
The recreation looks even more stunning utilising the Unreal Engine 5s Illumination Lumen, as well as 4K resolution and DLSS. Furthermore, as RwanLink puts it, Kakariko Village is recreated with “film quality assets.”
A thing of beauty!
The videos Kakariko Village not only show in-game footage but also how the recreation came to be. If you have an interest in Unreal Engine development, not to mention if you’re a Zelda fan, I recommend watching the videos in their entirety.
