Amazon is reportedly on the verge of buying Electronic Arts today

Update: 29/08/22: US network CNBC has refuted claims that Amazon is on the verge of acquiring Electronic Arts. Well, at least for today.

As reported by Eurogamer, CNBC co-anchor David Faber claimed that he’s talked to people that “would actually know” if Amazon were to buy EA and they informed him that “there’s nothing going on,” in terms of a current deal.

EA has definitely been out there in the past a bit, considering what it might do, you could imagine Amazon might have some interest,” continued Faber. “But no, this is not going to happen today, from what I’m hearing unless the people who had been involved previously have no idea.

However, it’s interesting that the words “not going to happen today” are being used. So, in other words, never say never. Probably. We’ll update you should we hear of any further news.
