Borderlands Movie Has Officially Begun Filming

The Borderlands movie has finally begun filming and new on-set photos have been revealed by those making the production.

Like most things over the last year or so, the COVID-19 pandemic has thrown more than a spanner into the works resulting in delays and at times cancellations across the entertainment industry.

One such production impacted by the global pandemic is the highly anticipated Borderlands movie, thankfully, however, production is now underway.

On social media over the weekend, tweets were shared with on-set photos from the cast and crew of the video game adaptation.

A tweet was shared by Ariana Greenblatt who played “Young Gamora” in Avengers: Infinity War.  However, in the Borderlands movie, Greenblatt will be playing explosive expert, Tiny Tina.

We’re out here, cameras rolling Day 1,” said Greenblatt in a tweet.

Randy Pitchford, CEO of Gearbox Software and creator of the Borderlands franchise also shared a tweet featuring Ethan Smith (Executive Producer), Ari Arad (Producer), Emmy Yu (Producer), and Eli Roth (Director).

It’s happening, you guys. IT’S! EFFING! HAPPENING! Behind-the-scenes in Sound Stage 2 on Day 1 of principal photography for the Borderlands motion picture.” tweeted Pitchford.

The Borderlands movie promises to be a star-studded affair with the likes of Cate Blanchett as Lilith, Jack Black playing as Claptrap, and Kevin Hart as Roland.

Filming of the Borderlands movie will be recorded in Budapest, Hungary and so far I’d say the early signs appear to be promising for this being at least a decent adaptation.

While we don’t have a release date for the Borderlands movie, it’s nice to know that filming is officially underway, and with a bit of luck, we’ll start to get regular updates of how production is going.
