Call of Duty: Warzone 2 will be revealed later this year and with it comes “ground-breaking innovations”. Exciting!
When Call of Duty: Warzone was released in 2020, it quickly became one of the most popular battle royale games on the market. In the months that followed, its popularity continued to grow.
Within its first 24-hours of existence, it was reported to have generated over 6 million players. Furthermore, as of April 2021, Warzone had recorded over 100,000 million active players.
As reported by Eurogamer, it sounds like the new Warzone could be better than ever. However, rather than describing it as a sequel, Activision says it’s a new “experience” as well as once more being free-to-play.
In a statement to investors, it’s confirmed that the new Warzone, is expected to launch in 2022, and is being built from the ground up alongside this year’s mainline release. Details on the new Warzone were vague, but the “reveal” is expected in the coming months.
Rumours suggest MW2 Reboot is inbound!
Additionally, if recent rumours are to be believed, this year’s mainline Call of Duty will be a sequel to the 2019 Modern Warfare reboot. Which would make sense, considering that the first iteration of Warzone was released after the launch of the first Modern Warfare reboot.
