Thanks to a recent earnings call with investors we now have a better understanding of how Call of Duty: Warzone and Black Ops Cold War will be integrated together later this year.

We already know that Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War content and progress will cross-over into Warzone and vice versa, but finally we’re seeing what that might look like.
During a recent investors call COO at Activision Daniel Alegre says that content between the two Call of Duty games will begin with the first season of Black Ops Cold War this December.
What this means is the content earned in the Warzone battle royale such as Operators, weapons, loadouts and more will be carried over, allowing players to switch between the two games on the fly.
However, according to reports from VGC, Black Ops War will not be getting its own battle royale themed map until sometime in 2021. So until then it will be the more traditional multiplayer content from Black Ops Cold War which will cross-over.
Other forms of progression which will be integrated is the battle pass between Warzone and Black Ops Cold War. This is a feature I particularly like because you’re not encouraged to leave the previous game in the series behind.

For a personal point-of-view I would often leave the previous Call of Duty on the back-burner when a new game in the series released.
However now that Modern Warfare/Warzone and Black Ops Cold War will be integrated together, it means that I can happily switch between the two as I please – and so can everyone else!

With the first Black Ops Cold War season starting in December, we can expect to hear more details over the coming weeks.
