Some retailers in the US have already discounted CDPR’s Cyberpunk 2077 by as much as half price just one month after its launch.
The news of the hefty discount was shared by bargain hunter Twitter page Jelly Deals, where it was revealed that Amazon in the US is selling the RPG for as little as $29.99 (at the time of the tweet).
“Cyberpunk 2077 on PS4 and Xbox One has been reduced to $30 at Amazon US,” said Jelly Deals in a tweet.
However despite the big discount, Jelly Deals stated that Cyberpunk 2077 is still a difficult game to recommend for one that is still buggy.
“Obviously it’s hard to recommend the game on base consoles right now, but for PS5 or Xbox Series X/S this is a great price”.
At the time of writing Cyberpunk 2077 has also dropped to $34.99 at Best Buy in the US and $37.99 at Walmart.
In the UK we’ve not seen such hefty price drops of Cyberpunk 2077 just yet, though Amazon UK currently has it listed for £41.95. One of the GameByte Shop’s latest deals saw the price fall to just £39.95 and, while the deal is now over, you can always check the shop for some fantastic prices in the future!
In my humble opinion, just as Jelly Deals states in the tweet above, the jury’s out on whether Cyberpunk 2077 is a game to recommend right now.
During my earlier times with the game on PS4 Pro I never really encountered too many bugs.
However the more time that I spend in Night City, the more issues seem to be occurring. It’s impacting my immersion and I’m likely to put the game on the back burner until CDPR issues more fixes.
Unless you’ve been living under a rock, Cyberpunk 2077 has been plagued with issues since it launched in December 2020. Following a recent attempt of damage limitation with an apology video from CDPR, matters have only seemed to have gotten worse.
