It has been discovered that the file size for Ghost of Tsushima is almost twice as large on PS5 as it is on PS4.
Twisted Voxel has reported that Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut on PlayStation 5 comes in at 60GB. The original Ghost of Tsushima had a suggested file size of 50GB on PS4 but was then reduced to 35GB once installed. However, a later 12GB was taken up post-launch for a series of updates which included the Legends multiplayer mode.
It should come as no surprise that Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut on PS5 will command a larger file size. For starters, with just the visual and performance upgrades alone, you’d assume it would take up more hard drive space.
On top of the visual and performance upgrades, we also have the Iki Island expansion that also comes bundled with the Director’s Cut. So, it all starts to mount up.
Director’s Cut On PS5 Is Stacked With Improvements and new features!
Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut on PlayStation 5 also comes with haptic feedback and adaptive tripper support for the DualSense controller, 3D audio, improved Japanese voiceover lip-sync, and more.
You can transfer your save data from PS4 to PS5, and there is a next-gen upgrade system. Though how you upgrade from Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut from PS4 to PS5 is a little bit messy.
To be honest, I thought that the file size for Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut on PS5 would be larger. However, as we are still unable to play native PS5 games from an external hard drive, that precious SSD space is in short supply.
