Henry Cavill will produce and star in Warhammer 40K series

Update 16/12/22: It’s official, Henry Cavill will star and produce a Warhammer 40K live adaptation. In collaboration with Games Workshop, Amazon will finance both movies and TV series as part of a “Warhammer Cinematic Universe.

For 30 years I have dreamt of seeing a Warhammer universe in live action,” announced Cavill in an Instagram post. We may not be seeing Cavill as Superman, but at least he finally has some great news to celebrate this week.

Original Story 16/12/22: Henry Cavill will reportedly produce and star in a Warhammer 40K series which will be funded by industry giant, Amazon.

This story follows the news that Henry Cavill will not be starring in a Man of Steel sequel. What’s more, Cavill recently featured in a Black Adam cameo followed by the announcement that he’s returning as Superman. Sadly, that never came to be.

Henry Cavill won’t be Superman again!

However, as part of the DCEU shake-up by James Gunn and Peter Safran, Cavill’s sequel was cancelled. Worse still, this was just a few weeks after it was announced.

Furthermore, this followed the announcement that Henry Cavill had left The Witcher Netflix series and would be replaced by Liam Hemsworth as Geralt of Rivia in season four.

Cavill is known to be a huge fan of the Warhammer 40,000 tabletop franchise, so if reports are true, it could literally be a dream job for the popular English actor.  In an article from The Hollywood Reporter, it is claimed Cavill “is attached to star and executive producer” the live-action adaptation from Amazon.

Amazon is said to be in the final discussions

It is also said that Amazon: “is in final talks for the rights to the game, produced by Games Workshop, after months of negotiations and fending off rival companies that also sought the rights.

Obviously, we should always take rumours with a pinch of salt until proven otherwise. That being said, while the wound of the Superman sequel being cancelled is still fresh, we can’t help but be happy for Henry Cavill if this project comes to fruition.
